Great Lakes - Sweet corn challenge, Richfield, Ohio 7/27/08

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Here we go again!! Anyone up for this one? Me, the wife, and son will be there doing the 50 (weather providing). The son hasn't done a century yet and this ain't the one to start on.
BTW, challenge is the right word for this ride, sadistic as well!! If you do the hundred the buffet is well worth the suffering!

Is this one of those rides where you have to stop at certain points and eat sweet corn?
Buddy of mine in St. Louis told me about a donut race down there like that....
No, but you do get a 1/2 dozen ears to take home and chicken and corn at the end of the 50 and full buffet for the 100.
I heard of the donut ride, it's a race and for every donut you eat they take off time! You do it by laps, each lap you eat donuts. Icould just see me blowing chunks on that ride after the 12th donut. Ouch!!

i was thinking about it.
I will be there, doing the 50 plus hitting the optional hills. Will be hanging with some friends on a Green/orange fade Comotion tandem and I'll be on a postal 5200. Most likely we will all be wearing Orrrville kit.
I will have to figure out aplace to meet, if our timing is good at least we could start out together. Get to meet the faces that belong to the names.
Parking is pretty spread out so maybe meet in front of the reg tent. I'll work out something and get back to ya!

I'll be there.
I've done this ride for the past five years.
The first time I did it, it was my first bike ride in many years. I didn't think I was going to make it.:(
They used to have a 62 mile option instead of the 50.

I plan on doing the 100, I heard it was pretty hilly, guess I will find out....
If you are doing the 50 mile route, look for three people (me, wife and son) wearing Lorain Wheelmen jerseys. We will be at the ride around 7:30 ish to register.
