Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - new member

Hi, i'm new to this whole fixed gear community. I've never had a "fixed gear" bike before, and I really want to have one. I don't know what size to get though. I'm a girl, and my height is around 5'7 or 5'8

Does anyone reccomend any good wheels and rims?

Your size should be around a 53-55cm. Go to a local bike shop and test ride.

what rims should i get? he also offered selling an aerospoke to me for $100. i don't know what to put in the rear though. what kind of bars should i get? bull horns or what. does anybody know of any good ones? thankss

I just started riding too, but I'd stay away from the 'no name' bike. With 'no name' components.

I suggest checking out the fixed gear resource thread (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=287364) if you haven't already and read read read.

EDIT (after OP reposted): Whoa! Lucky You! Before you go shopping for parts, you should know each parts intended purpose. Then you build up your bike based on what's comfortable to ride with. The bars, for instance, depend on how you ride. Do your ride with your hands in the drops (on drop bars) or on the flats (the top part). I almost never ride in the drops, so I have bullhorns. Others have risers. And mustache bars. And aeros (now I'm kinda straying from fixed-specific bars, but you get the idea).

There's so much to know and so many ways to go. So, grab a beer and a comfortable chair and do some research. It's a long road.

i kinda thought so too, but i'm not going to be the naysayer. some of us are just super fortuitous.
