I just recieved my new toy, Oh sorry that should read health promoting, gas is 4.59 a gallon practical expense dear. But I have never owned a recumbent bike before. It came with a custom fork for 451 wheels, a front derailer, and the seat. I already have an appropriate wheelset to get started. I'd like to know what kind of bottom bracket I need and more importantly what kind of stem-handlebar arrangement. I want to stick with ASS steering and I gather that means some kind of pivoting stem to get on and off easily. Does anyone have any suggestions or a link for the specs from when this beauty was new. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Update 8/13/08 about Wife and kids started vacation with the extended family. I leave after work tomorrow. It's 9:00 pm . I am jumping in with both feet. I had already mounted the wheels , rear derailer, and the brakes but the stem arrived today so after work I assembled the fork and stem and connected the adjustable bars I bought, set the seat up and it really looks like something. I just need to change the hbars, install the chain, shifters- brake levers/cables etc. gotta go....

This isn't terribly helpful, but:

or

I bet a Terracycle stem, riser and/or handlebar will fit just fine:

Velocity Thracian wheels! Light without being stupid-light (meaning they are durable) smooth and fast.
