Bicycle Mechanics - Front Derailleur Help (please)

Two things I'm hoping someone can help me out with. I'm new to Campagnolo stuff.

I have a Record clamp-on front derailleur that I got from a friend that says "Record CT Titanium." That's it. It has a carbon cage. Anyone know what year that's from?

Also, is it normal with the Campagnolo Record group (07) to have to ratchet twice on the shifter to get the chain up to the big ring? Seems like it shouldn't be.

It's very similar, but mine just says "Record CT Titanium." Other than that, it looks identical (cage, fork, etc.) Mine is also a clamp-on, not a braze on.

I'm trying to figure out how to post pictures of it.

Are you sure it's not set up for a triple? I would assume that if it was, you wouldn't be hitting the right spots to be on the rings though...

CT means it's for a "compact" crank. I think the "Titanium" means it has Ti hardware.

Record brifters (and Chorus too) still have "micro shifting" for the front so several clicks are needed to shift between chainrings, either double or triple. This is a feature, not a bug, as it allows trimming of the front derailleur position as you shift across the cassette.

When properly adjusted you should be able to shift from the small ring of a double to the big ring with one sweep of the handle. Just give it one big shove.
When on the inner ring there should be no slack in the cable. A small amount of tension can be good.
