Recreational & Family - Have you figured this out?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I have a 18 month old and a 4 year old. The four year old like to ride a trail a bike that my husband pulls and my 18 month old rides on a seat on my bike, that is mounted on a sturdy rack. I really want the ability to take both kids with me. I have previously put the 4 year old in my bike seat and the baby in the trailer so that I can take both, but the 4 year old is now too heavy and really wantes to rider "her" bike.
So has anyone figured out how to attach both a trail a bike and a baby seat? I know there is a way and I think we can probably come up with something, but I wanted to see if anyone has already solved the problem. Pictures would be wonderful!

I like the look of that, and it was my original intention, but my bike is a step through and won't allow for the front seat.

I'm not sure if it really matters. Look at the link, click on the pic to enlarge it and you see the top bar. I don't think it has to do with installation.

As best I can tell, the Ibert mounts only to the stem and not the top tube.

What if you mounted the baby seat onto the back of the trailer bike?

I tried mounting the baby seat on the trail a bike, but then my 18 month old pulled the 4 year old hair the whole time. It was great fun for the 18 month old (boy), not so fun for my 4 year old (girl) I think this is the start or many years of "little" brother teasing "big" sis. The look on his face was one of just pure joy as my daughter screamed!
Anyway, I think this (http://bikebalance.com/images/attach_ChldStLG.jpg) would work as it would still give a "neck" for the trail a bike to attach too. But I can't seem to get ahold of anyone at the company and everything is out of stock.
Then this is interesting, but I can't find a US distributor, or a kids bike without brakes. http://www.followme-tandem.com/english/index.htm
This is my fav option, but again no US distributor that I can come up with. It is actually designed to use with a child seat http://www.bikesandtrailers.com/trailer-bikes/roland_add_bike.html

I like the Add+bike. That seems like a good choice.

You could attach a child trailer behind the trailercycle. I have done it quite successfully with the Piccolo trailercycle. Hills are tough, but that's the only issue I had.

Yeh, I could do the child trailer, which is what we have been doing, but my son screams most of the way. He can't see well in the trailer. I really wish I could find an add+bike in the US. That would be prefect. I think by hubby is going to weld a "neck" onto the back of my rack, then I can just attachthe trail a bike that way. Seems like it will be the most cost effective option. Seems to be that Burley would see the need for this type of product and make a modification to their product.

I do a tandem bike + child stoker kit for the older kid with a baby seat on the back for the tot. Works great.
