Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Let's say you are 22 years old. You work at the Home Depot, in gardening. There is a girl at the services desk named CARA.
This girl, well.... you once found her weird. You even made fun of her "weird face" with the guys and called her a Pug in reference to her dog face. However, you are too nice and wouldnt ever be mean to her in person.
Then one day, before posting on these forums while you are working, you realize shes SUPER cute and you have a crush on her. A big crush! Call it beastiality or whatever, but this girl is HOT now for some reason. Even when she waves hi to you, it feels good.
Any ideas on Home Depot romance? Or a cool way to ask her out in such a store? ;)
tread lightly. Work romances can be a bit touchy.
That said, start off by hanging out w/ her as friends. See where it goes from there. :)

I'd like to ask her out in a super fun, cute way. Hmmmm.
Don't try too hard. Just be casual and ask her out. She's already being friendly and waving at you.
If you try to make some crazy way about it, it might creep her out or make her think you're being more serious about it than you are.

Hit it and quit it, preferably entirely out of the public eye.

+1. Just don't talk to her the same you write in some of your threads here.
Also, the more elaborate a plan you try to execute, the more likely you'll botch it because of nerves. Trust me on this one. :innocent:

I usually signal my interest with some spontaneous breakdancing.

Offer to buy her a coffee at the end of a shift you two share. Preferably at the closest coffee shop. It's secure and nice, and you would get a chance to explore if there was anything more there.

Good ideas, keep em coming :)
To those that think I may take it too weird/far : I know I act stuuuuupid here. But, you may not know that I am very smart. I know the level I need to be with her, I know how to do it. The question is what. ;) Completely understandable for you to think I'm not very good with girls though, looking at my previous threads. :p

Think?!? If you were good with girls, you wouldn't be here asking for opinions and ideas.
p.s. - When you get to the age of 22, you should be interested in women, rather than girls. :p

Grab a shovel, go up to her counter, and say something like "I really dig you, let's go out tonight. What do you like to do for a good time?"
And if your friends give you any static about her looks, don't listen. I have a couple past possible romances that were adversely affected by listening to my stupid friends.

What ever you do dont assume that she doesnt already have a boyfreind! I asked a girl out once in almost the same situation, her reply went like this,"Sounds like fun but I dont think my boyfreind will like it very much." :o we ended up being good freinds and even better freinds after they broke up ; )
It will come out that you said hurtful things behind her back about her appearance. When she finds out she will be hurt, it is difficult to take back what has already been said. Best advice would be to leave it alone and date someone you didn't start out criticizing.

Borrow a phrase from Steve Miller.
"I really like your peaches,
I want to shake your tree"

It will probably come out like this
"I really like your tree
I want to shake your peaches"

You beat me to it. I moved from girls to women when I was 18 yo. Never been the same. :thumb:
