i just got my custom carbon evolo from guru about a week ago. only have two rides on it so far (bad weather and moving don't leave a whole lot of time for riding), but it is a wonderful bike. the frame has a 74.5 degree seat tube angle with approx. a 55cm tt. the head tube is tall also, so that the frame can accommodate my somewhat short torso compared to my arms and legs. the frame is extremely stiff, but still extremely comfortable. before ordering this bike i rode a madone (number escapes me, but it was one of the top models), and look 585, and an orbea orca. they were all very nice rides in their own way, and i probably liked the 585 the best. the guru does not feel as light while riding it as the 585 did, but it is. it has absolutely no flex at all, and the bottom bracket can not be moved. it is a very smooth bike, and really makes the road disappear. The bike it obviously rather short, and it really turns like a race car. it definitely does not feel as tall as it is, and the alpha-q fork that they have chosen to pair it with seems like it was the right choice for this frame. i am 6'1", 163 lbs., chaser/sprinter. The build:

guru evolo custom carbon, white/red
d/a 10
easton ec 90 zero setback
fizik arione red/white aqua-sapone team edition
fsa sl-k handlebar
deda zero100 stem, black.
rolf vector pro tubulars (just cracked the rear hub flange, so they are out of commission for a bit).
or
bontrager xxx-lite carbon tubular team edition
look carbon pedals

with the bontragers, cages, and full saddle bag, the bike weighs 7.25.

the moral of the story - guru makes a very nice ride. i have seen their ti work also, and the welds are stunning. if you are looking for a custom carbon ride, i am sure that you could do a lot worse than these guys. they make their own everything - tubes and joints - and from my short experience, do a very good job of it all.

You're 6ft 1ins, and you're on a 55cm top tube and a 74.5 degree STA with a zero offset post?

You must be in anthropology textbooks.

thanks for the tutorial. again, the bike rides great and fits me perfectly. as you can see in the pics, i am running the bontraiger team editions from two (or three?) years ago. great wheels, btw. the first few pics are with the flash just to show you the true colors of the paint. the rest are without the flash as the white paint with the flash was overpowering the lens a bit. i tried to show the joints as best i could, and also show how the top and down tubes and quite trianglular, which you can't really see on the website pictures. anyway... on to it:

and for the person who does not seem to understand why people get custom frames, yes, i have really long legs and arms but a shorter torso... so, this is the best answer i have found so far. i'd love to have been able to buy a bike off the rack, but this frame rides beautifully and did not cost much more than the frames i would consider off the rack anyway. the frame is amazingly stiff yet still vertically compliant. it smooths out the road nicely.

i hope the pics show everything - if you want a picture of something specific let me know and i wil try to get to it.

Very nice bike. There was a bike show here two weeks ago and Guru had a full display up, all very impressive looking. I really like their New Steel model. I chatted with Guru rep Yorick Caron and he stated that they are planning to come out soon with cyclo-cross and touring models.
Cheers
