Mike from Union City. 41 y/o, male. I've riding since birth. We used to make little wood ramps for our old-old-school faux-bmx bikes. Sometimes parachutes made from old sheets since drag race was big back then. I started serious road biking about 14 on a pos 10 speed that was given to me. Switched over to mainly MTB at 18 and been doing that ever since.
Here's my main riding partner. She's training on single-track now and just yesterday worked on rocky, dry-creak crossings. She spent her birthday money on new shifter. The twist type are a good idea but are just too difficult to turn with her little hands so she can't get into the lowest or highest gears by herself.

Here's my project for commuting once my kids are back in school. Yes, it's a Free Spirit, it's heavy and I don't care. hahaha. Actually once all the components were removed it wasn't that awful. Going SS because I have no hills on my way to work and I want to put zero $$$ into this project. Some of you will hate this but I'm cutting the bars and turning them over to make fake-track bars. I might even just leave the multi speed on the back. It's not my intention to be a poser but I don't want to put $200 into a crappy frame. :lol: I'll clean it up and make it roll nice and that will work well for me.
