I was at a shop today that had a barely used 2003 Fuji team superlight for sale. It was one of the shop guys personal bikes and he's upgrading to an '04. The price is GREAT! but,

I was cruising the Fuji Website and it says the wheels are for race use only!

Anyone have any experience with this bike/wheel combo? Do you think I could actually use these wheels as daily riders or would I NEED to buy another wheelset?

I have a set they are not eveyday riders and I am a relative lightweight.

Damn! The price is great but I don't think I'd have enough $$$ left to buy a nice set of daily wheels...

I'm guessing they'd break, maybe collapse, crack something like that.

The price is still great (if it's still there) so I might look into buying it anyway and finding a used set of Ksyriums or something.

Just a thought. Could you sell the super duper float away race only wheels and recover enough cash to get some wheels that you can actually use?

I had no idea race-only wheels even existed. How would they not collapse in a 90 mile road race or something.

The idea is that you don't use them on every ride, and they will last longer.

That's the idea I had...they'd blow apart alot sooner as daily wheels. I also guessed they would be harder to keep true as daily wheels due to the lightweight.

I thought about selling them, but then the bike isn't "superlight" anymore. The price is good enough (as I've said before) that I might buy it and spend the extra $$ for a decent set of used wheels.

If I were you I would keep the light wheels and get some stonger ones for training and riding in crappy weather. you can get a set of mavic cosmos wheels for $200 if you look hard..The more wheels one has the better!! Use them on hilly rides or races, or if you have broken spoke on the other wheels.

Well i guess another wheelset plus 100 more grams would only make it light.Lighter isnt always better. You can only get those tubes so thin. Snap,krackle and pop.
