Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I am the old guy (82) that became widdowed April 6th and needed something to get me out of the house and away from the lazyboy chair, I purchased a TerraTrike Cruiser recumbent on June 14th and made my 1st ride on June 15th and have been on the Trike every morning with only one exception when I had to be out of town. Riding the Trike has been a joy and I can highly recommend it to everyone, young and old. It is amazing how many strangers come up to me and express interest in the Trike and initiate a conversation. It is, therefore, not only a joy to ride, but a method of introduction to very interesting people, joggers, bikers, walkers, dog walkers, baby walkers etc. It is a fact that with each passing day I am more and more pleased with the results of having purchased the recumbent Trike. I initially thought I might lose a little weight but alas this is not so as I have an increased urge to eat! However I do find that I can walk a little better. My trips for anyone interested are from 10kms to 12kms daily. I hope this discourse encourages others of my age to take up trikeing. The only other thing i might mention is that I was quite hesitant to purchase the Trike as I knew nothing about them and none of my aquaintences had a clue. So my advice is TAKE A CHANCE........

Yes the picture shown is a TerraTrike Cruiser exactly like mine. I am in Calgary Alberta and we are blessed with a great many miles of paved bike (trike) paths. You can easily travel from the outskirts right across town from any direction.

I beg to differ. While the pathways here are pretty good, there are a bunch of places you can't get across town without some major detours. But I'm glad you're enjoying the ones you've found. Keep it up! I'll look out for you on the pathways.

Hey, I'm in Winnipeg. No hills here, just lots of potholes.

Hey Lennard,
Good to see you here! I think I saw you on the bike path a couple of weeks ago (right by Eau Clair?)
