ok i know the tension is killing me. i see other people on here that have vw referenced screen names and i know they are into tuning as well. not to mention the change of thread topics to touch on vw's in a lot of threads, so here it is. if you are into tuning, post it up, show off your vw and your fixie, because we all know i want to see both.

Jesus ****ing christ that golf is sick. I used to own two MKIII's, one was a Jetta which my friend wrecked and one was a Golf 2dr that I wrecked. Was a ****ty 8V that I was about to headswap to 16v and turbo. Seriously dude, hockdub, that car makes me wet.

There's a nice mk1 rabbit that's totally dropped nearly scraping parked 24/7/365 on a main street near where I live, I think I'm just gonna leave a note on it with an offer. Dying to get back into the dub scene.

I'm on the prowl for a nice Scirocco1 now.

My last VW was a '64 Bug. It was neither fast nor sexy, but like a fixie, it was simple, and did what I needed it to do. It didn't have a working radio because it had a 6v electrical system, and being a poor student, I couldn't afford to convert it to 12v. The wiper motor was broken; to use the wipers I had to reach into the glove box and push the linkage back and forth by hand. There was no air conditioning, but I enjoyed a mid August trip on I-40 across the Mojave desert when I was traveling from LA to Santa Fe (the temp in Ludlow Ca. was 120 degrees). I repeatedly played Depeche Mode's "Music for the Masses" (just released at that time) on my boombox which sat on the passenger seat. I had the volume fully cranked because it was hard to hear at 60 mph (top safe speed) with the windows down and the unpacked stinger muffler.

holy sheet that mkII is clean. i had a similarly treated mkII jetta coupe w/ a 2L 16V innit. i was banned from the vortex back in 2002 or so. at that time, i had a pristine rabbit gti, a g60 rado daily driver, a weber carbed 2.1L 16V mkI, and a blown mkIII gtiVR6. now? nada. my buddy has a rallye golf that he's been working on for a while now...

i thought this was going to be about the tiguan commercial with the two T1s on top.

anyway, i'd love a 64-68 beetle with a rag top and a wood rack up top.

this is my 91 jetta 1.6 turbo diesel[MF engine code, hence the SN]. the photo was taken at the beginning of the summer. ronal turbos and coilovers now.

This is my 5th VW... you may recognize my name from the Vortex.

I'm on the prowl for a nice Scirocco1 now.

I blew up my 1979 Scirocco a couple of years ago, it was a sad day. Replaced it with a slammed MKII Golf that leaked so bad during the wettest PNW winter that it f'd some electrics and got so mouldy I got rid of it. I will have another slammed MKII one day.

My MKIII was killed by upstate NY salt, I guess I haven't had that much luck w/ dubs!

On a related note I remember seeing a car/fashion mag a few years ago that had a fashion shoot of cars/dudes/fixed gears, anyone know what I'm talking about?

I dont have any good (recent) pics of my golf and havent had the camera out since I got my fixed a few months ago... When my new bike gets here (should be this week) I will post up some pics.

i was dying to get back into a vws too.
i have an '85 gti with
no headliner.
one doorpanel is missing, the other has water damage (because some idiot took the plastic off the inside of the door.
half of the car has nice paint, the driver side has some peeling clearcoat and ****.
the windshield is cracked.
the stereo is gone and the trim around it is broken.
the driver side window regulator needs to be replaced. i just push the window up and down with my hand right now.
the headlight adjusters could use replacing.
rear wiper no workey.
not sure if rear defrost works.
high pressure ac line needs to be replaced so thte ac will hold pressure.
my belts squeal a little.
seems the tranny leaks a little gear oil too.
it has snowflakes with two matching tires and two others that don't match.
the shifter needs the bushings replaced really badly.

i don't like working on cars anymore and i live 5 miles from work.
i'll have to take a pic to post. my vw is more badass than any of yous vws.

Here is my 08 GTI, I spent six months looking for an MKII to restore (I was going to put a TDI motor in one) until I gave up and just bought the GTI. The fixie is disassembled in my closet, but it will be back on the road when I get my wheelset in.
