Greetings fellow cyclists,
My name is Liz and I'm from Philadelphia, Pa. I was curious to know if any of you had done any major bike trips. After I graduate from college in the spring, I am planning to cycle down to Texas with a few friends...and I am looking for any advice ...on routes, places to visit, sites to see....anything would help!
Thanks so much!
Liz :)

Im sorry that I do not have any suggestions...but I just want to say that that seems like a great plan, and I hope to do something like that when I can find some time....perhaps not as long as yours, but something........good luck with everything...hope it works out well!!!

I have absolutely zero advice for you but thought I would add a word of encouragement. Sounds like a great trip in the making ... chock full of stories and adventure.

Good luck!

Here's a bit of advice: don't come to TX in the summer!! Go somewhere else!

Why, TX?

I rode from D.C. to Texas about 10 years ago. The majority of the route I took went on Skyline Drive/Blueridge Parkway and then the Natchez Trace. The Blueridge Parkway has some challenging climbs. The Natchez Trace is just rolling hills or flat. The scenery was pretty, but you don't have many services and don't meet as many people on the parkway/trace.
