Darn, I was hoping we finally had a Share The Road plate when I read the thread title.

Nice idea but it looks lame. All they did was slap a little graphic on the side. They have nicer ones than that already (with the full background).
Yeah, woulda been nicer with a pic of the now unused rail bridge that shadows the Dumbarton.

GG bridge is nice. Woulda been nicer if it took up the entire plate in the background, hence my lame remark.
Perhaps it should have said "NORCAL WITHIN REACH"...but the full effect would not be had unless we went back to the 1963 California plates (the black and yellow ones). :p

I would have to agree with that. I have the California Memorial (Sept 11) license plate mostly becuase it looks great with the full background. Even the Yosemite plate looks good, although I never want to show support for the Sierra Club. I would probably get a Golden Gate Bridge plate if the picture spanned the whole plate instead of just a small sticker on it. Good idea though.

Proceeds support parks and recreation, which is different from fighting pollution and improving the environment.

Actually I think CA's plates are better than most. But a lot of states are catching onto the revenue opportunity of selling 'special' plates to even the non-vanity plate crowd.

Boring plate ... would have been great to have the GG bridge as the background on the entire plate. License plates from Oregon looks nice.
