Heard this on BBC this am, thought it was kinda cool:

Burke was connected to equipment to measure his heart rate and oxygen uptake, and the levels of lactic acid in his blood.

He found that during a performance, his heart averaged between 140 and 150 beats a minute, peaking at 190, levels comparable to other top athletes.

However, Dr Smith said that while top footballers were expected to perform once or twice a week, drummers on tour would be doing it every night at a different venue.

Why do guitarists put drumsticks on the dash of their car?
So they can park in the handicapped spot

J/K Nice article thanks

The moral of the story: if you want a good workout, play the drums rather than football.

Interesting, though honestly I think the numbers are high. I can see mid to high zone 2, but not near-LT, unless the player is not in good shape. I'll wear my monitor for a few gigs and see what the numbers look like. This weekend is a big band gig, which is relatively low key, I'll wait until I do some rock gigs later in August.

For olafub: Little Tommy told his mother he wanted to grow up to be a guitarist, but she said "Sorry son, you can't do both".
