Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

SO I am looking for a frame to convert into a ss and came across this old 64 Schwinn, the model is unknown. I know it's hard to give a price without knowing the year or model, but I was just curious to see how much one would be willing to pay for the frame.
Also, has anyone had experience with chopping off the dropouts and flipping them around and welding them to create a track fork end? Thanks a lot for the help.

Classic & Vintage forum might be able to give you a better estimate on the price

It isn't a high end bike. If you just want it for the frame and it fits, I would say $30 or $40 plus whatever it is worth to you to have a bike now instead of whenever a better bike comes along. If it is in ready to ride condition and you will be using everything, something more like $100-125 plus whatever that "now" number is for you.

There's no good reason to do this, especially for this frame. If you really want, you can send it off to have it done properly and realigned, but for the cost you could probably just get a frame with track ends already on it.
