Last year my fiance got into riding and I ended up doing all the maintenance for her. Naturally I took an interest and I bought myself a Specialized Tarmac Comp on sale in January. I started riding it in May and I've absolutely fallen in love with the sport. I've been riding a little over one hundred miles a week, and I'm starting to get used to how silly I look in spandex.

Nice to meet you.

Hello LRB, remember, the other cyclists don't care about how you look, we all just would rather feel comfortable on our bikes :D . I like hearing that your fiancee is a cyclist as well--cycling can be a great family activity.

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

LeRenardBleu, welcome. I now live in Ridley Park, but grew up in King of Prussia, just around the corner from you, and went to grade school in Bridgeport.

As for "it's always sunny in Philadelphia" ... I wish! I thought I could sneak a ride in last night before the rain started. I got about 3 miles out and the rain started. Fortunately, I made it home before the torrential downpour and lightning started.

East Hill- thanks for the offer and the welcome.

Febs- lately it's been anything but sunny which is what prompted the title. Thankfully, the rain has gotten rid of the oppressive heat.

Bridgeport has been great for riding. Little hills everywhere and less than a mile from the Schuylkill path. There's also a ride that heads off up 23 that meets at 4th and Dekalb. I'm finding no shortage of rides here.

Nice. Does the ride head out 23 west towards Valley Forge or east towards Conshohocken? Either way, there are some pretty good hills to climb.

Saw the title and I had to reply, best show on TV.

Anyway... welcome... I'm living in Drexel Hill now but come the end of August I'll be in Chestnut Hill (NW Phila.)

It's a very funny show.

Chestnut Hill is a great area, I grew up in the next town over (Erdenheim)
