Back when I was an ESL teacher, one of my greatest tricks to get my students talking was to ask them to decide among themselves what is the proper way to make rice. With a class that is equal parts Latin Americans, East Asians, and Middle Easterners/North Africans things got heated and everybody had an opinion.

that is not the rice, that is the cook silly. My cook never looked like that though, come to think of it.

Chinese style. Raise rice bowl to lips and use hashi to sweep.

I avoid rice. Nutritionally speaking, it really doesn't have much to offer other than being cheap filler.

Quinoa is where its at. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quinoa#Nutritional_value

WOW! Ill be sure to tell my brothers that all that rice we ate was no good (Nutritionally speaking) for us. Guess that explains our scrawny 200 + lb bodies? Some fat but mostly all %100 pure USDA prime beef baby! I'm 5'9", 210lbs and about 8 to ten pounds of that is fat. I used to be 218 but have shed 8 lbs in the past 2 months ;) and Im not really working out per say. Just riding my bike and eating rice :D

I'll take any zucchini you don't want:)

I made a cold salad last night with quinoa, cannelini beans, cucumber, fresh spinach, tomatoes, grilled chicken breast and feta cheese. Having the rest for lunch today...

Rice is about 7% protein

Quinoa is about 12 to 18% protein

Muscles like protein.

Yes sir, I understand that, but it doesnt change the fact that rice did the job just fine :) although Im not 100% sure I dont think that the amount of protein a person consumes matters, just that you get the amount needed ;) but again, Im not %100 sure.
EDIT: Oh! I get it now! I just did a little research and found that Quinoa has become the new "in food" now I understand. ; )
