Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - Fanny pack?

How do you guys carry your stuff from point A to point B?

When I go out for the evening I usually carry just enough its uncomfortable and awkward to keep it all on my body (considering my attire), but it's usually far less than where a mess bag is needed.

Is a fanny pack a reasonable idea? If so, what are some fashion conscious options?

good will - get a sick retro fanny pack and strap it to your bike when u go into the bar.

for long rides, I wear one that fits 0.5 liter water bottle, wallet, phone, keys, couple o tools.

A few years ago, after having my back totally annihilated by sweat from traditional messenger bags every day, I decided to spring for one of the Fabric Horse utility belts. I'd been using a hip pouch, but I found that unless I threaded it through my normal belt, which made it difficult to remove, it would slide around or sag down annoyingly if it had any weight in it. The utility belt is pretty damn robust and stays securely in place whilst riding. It's definitely a good chunk of cash, but if you really want something that can hold all of the essentials (tools, wallet, keys, phone, lock) with decent weight distribution, then it may very well be worth it. I tend to think that it was a good purchase on my part.

Just get an over the shoulder man purse.

If anyone has an excuse to wear a fanny pack, it's a cyclist.

I use a reload hip pouch in safety orange. The only thing I wish is that the belt loops on it were higher up but really it works well. Tube, levers, 15mm, CO2 inflater, allen wrenches, cell phone and a cable lock/padlock are swallowed up quite comfortably.

Does anyone use the chrome hip pouch? is it any good?
I almost got one the other day but didn't feel like spending the money at the time. Maybe if someone was using it and liked it I'd go back and think about it some more.
I'm looking at it for the same reasons as the OP, tired of stuffed pockets.

Mostly jersey pockets. I've also got a cheap handlebar bag that will hold quite a bit.

I put the mini lock in my pocket or fabric horse holster. It works great. I swing it around to the back and my tshirt goes right over it. NO MORE SWEATY BACK!

I dont like the style of my $9.95 pack, so I'm looking for a simple black one that won't be noticed at all. i keep my u-lock, tools, maps, receipts, pens, spare contact lenses and eye drops in it for work (paired with a kremlin, which i like to keep completely empty of my things).

i use my paintball carrier, each paintball popper carries different things. its the coolest.

I hate back pack or fanny packs while riding. Basically, on the race bike, I accept the fact that I am not to carry much stuff. What stuff I carry has to fit into my jersey pockets or a mini sized handlebar bag that fits underneath the handlebar. / If I need carry much stuff I take my commuter or tourer bike, which has a trunk rack and panniers.
