Now I have this fancy new rear wheel, I am wondering if this will work:

Current 10 speed Campagnolo Ergo brifter (of any gruppo) with Campy Super Record (the one with the black insert and titanium frame bolt, so mid-80s) rear dérailleur and Campy 10 speed cassette. Will it shift? I don't want to check if it will blend. :)

I've hunted around on the internets and haven't found a straight answer. I'm particularly interested in hearing from anyone who has tried with these actual components.

You'll need a later rear derailleur. Campy changed the throw ratio and cable pull in 2001 so the earlier derailleur will not move the correct amount to match the 10-speed cassette.

Correct.

Any 10-spd rear der will work.
