How much would the frame of a first year hand made trek frame be worth? has the original plastic casing, and its in good condition.

First, what's "hand made"? Trek's bikes are stock/production bikes. I'm comparing their process to, say, Serotta where they are custom for the individual rider (except for Fierte).

Second..assuming it's a road frame is it Alpha, SL, ZR9000, or carbon? They make road frames in all these materials and the cost goes up as the frame material gets better and lighter.

Your answer will depend on more specifics.

By handmade I mean it was built in a barn by the founders.

What model is it? That will make a HUGE difference. Might want to post on the classic/vintage section to get more answers though. Alot of the people over there love old stuff and have a very good idea of pricing, etc.
