Hoping to imrove my sprinting this season and looking for some tips of the sprinters. My timetrialing is not bad and im pretty strong on the hills but have a lousy sprint. My initial jump is good but I dont have a good top speed.

Ive been riding a fixed gear during the winter to give me some leg speed and strength(from hills) and gradually start upping the training towards the season.Ive never really done a specific days for sprints, only really adding a few on to other training days.Is is best to focus a day a week on short intervals/sprints or adding a few sprints to other training days?.

summer training.

How about adding some town line (sign, telephone pole or whatever) sprints to your group rides. It's a good way to sharpen your legs and learn the tactics of sprinting.

You might not have the genetics to be a sprinter so mixing it up with riders that have good sprints is a good way to learn sprinting tactics. You might discover you have go farther out and use your time trialing ability or shell them on the hill leading up to the sprint.

If you have pretty good "snap" (acceleration) you might be able to get a big enough gap early and hold it to the line. If you lack top end speed, don't be following wheels and hope to come around at the end.
