FYI:
I recently picked up some maps at a visitors center that rate Illinois roads and highways as to their "bicycle-friendliness". They're online, too, but not very usable:(.

where was this said visitor center?The Grafton, IL visitors center had all of the regional maps. The Alton, IL vc had at least the map for its region (8?).

the roads should all be colored red. can't do much with crazy drivers on the road these days.

My state representative's office has them for our region and surrounding regions. IDOT used to mail them out for free too.

everyone may already know this, but chicago will send you as many free maps as you want, and within days of requesting them too!
