You've been warned. Please don't ask for that two minutes of your life back.
So I was hanging out with an old friend of mine last night. Years ago he went to UCLA and he had a girlfriend who was a professional dancer (she toured with Madonna back in the day). I met her a couple of times, she was pretty hot, had that dancer's body. Anyways, for some reason he mentioned her last night and I learned that she was in the movie Showgirls! You know, that infamously, notoriously bad movie "starring" Elizabeth Berkley and Gina Gershon.
So this morning I checked my NAS, and yup, I have it on my hard disk, so of course I have to go through it to see what part she played. She had a small but significant role in the film. She is the black dancer named Annie who is Gina Gershon's understudy. She has a nasty conflict with another dancer named Julie. Julie then proceeds to drop beads on the stage during a show to take Annie out. Nomi (Berkley) sees it but doesn't say anything. Annie breaks her knee, so Nomi becomes the understudy. When Nomi takes Gina out by pushing her down the stairs, Julie backs her up and said Gina slipped. You can see the scenes with Annie at 0:59, 1:12, and 1:18-1:21. So there you go, I met a dancer from Showgirls, my brush with greatness, or infamousness, whatever.
Oh, I just discovered she also kicked ass in Starship Troopers, until her arm got burned off by that huge bug. She also did an episode of Babylon 5, and she was credited as one of the vampire bar dancers in "From Dusk Till Dawn," but I could not find her in that scene.
