theres actually 2 models...the higher end model actually has some respectable parts but the price tag is heavy!

It's really not a bad bike. Just buy it direct from Montague instead of the Hummer-branded one and you can chop a few hundred off the pricetag.

There is no reason for consumers to buy it- just like the Hummer!

I have actually seen that bike in camoflage as an actual military bike. It folds in half for paratroopers

yup, designed for the military! very cool, well there is some reason for hummers for civillians, If for example you run a drug ring and have many enemies...

Sure there is! Off roading is awesome and off roading clubs help the environment and trail preservation/maintence/education, besides being a whole lot of fun!

You don't have to tell me! I just spent 1600 dollars on a lift kit for my Jeep!

:D

Haha, I think its worthless if you have it lifted for no reason...Like all of the kids at my High School with jeeps with lift kits, we have big 12 foot snow drifts in our parking lots and the most "offroading" those Jeeps see is that. Its pretty sad...

Well people buy mt bikes and never ride them on the trail or use the suspension travel.

It's a free country. Personally I like going where not many people are and just enjoy nature, just like when I mt bike. It's also a fun activity to be enjoyed with like-minded people- just like cycling!

Well I mean, its the fact that these people go out and buy gigantic lift kits for their Jeeps for no apparent reason that bugs me. I mean, if you aren't doing anything, why not just leave it stock?

Its like someone going and buying a wal-mart bike for cruising the local bike paths, and then going to a bike shop and buying a Marzocchi 888 to put on it just for kicks.

i agree. look at the H2 for example, why do you think its a piece of junk built on a truck chassis? because people just buy them to drive around town and GM knows it. if you want a real offroader, you get a jeep or an H1.

But....i guess it's whatever you like. If you need to be noticed in a huge lifted truck then go for it

H2 is extravagent but I see them way out on the sand @ the beach, you can do the same thing in a jeep or a h1, the jeep is cheaper but less stylish i guess, personally i think our grand cherokee is more comfortable than our volvo xc when it comes to the interior design, and the H1 is like 2x as expensive, so if you want the hummer without the super extreme capability, the H1 makes sense...if I had the money though, I'd go range rover, those are hot but still tastefull, or the benz g500, but thats starting to get kind of extravagent...whatever its all a dream, i'm saving for a neon or something, haha

Why not go for a Pinzgauer or an Alvis Stalwart? Okay so the Stalwart's running gear might not last too long if you have to do any pavement driving but hey... just avoid the highways and use rivers instead. :)

Why not go for those damn flying cars? Where the hell are all the flying cars? Ten years ago they told us that we'd have flying cars by the year 2000 for sure...It's 2004 and I want my flying car now, dammit!

Yeah, I wouldn't buy a Hummer bike for the sake of it saying "Hummer" on the side; actually seems really lame.

As for off-roading, try doing it in a stock "grocery-getter" like my Explorer! :D Now that's some fun (and a challenge)!

khuon's right it is just a montegue we sell them in out Sail boat store for our recreational boaters I beleive we list it at $595 (no one pays that price though). I did a test ride of one last year not bad for a foldable bike. Khuon where was that pic taken? Somewhere in central WA?

Actually that was taken in NoCal on a trail known as Slick Rock in the Stanislaus National Forest. Our group on that trip included 7 rigs: a Jeep TJ, 2 Jeep XJs, my Jeep ZJ, a Toyota Tacoma and a pair of older model Toyota 4Runners. We were all modified to one degree or another. My only real mod was running 31" AT tyres and a mild 3" lift with heftier offroad suspension than the stock shocks and springs. We did that trail and then moved on to another close-by trail called Deer Creek.

You'll have to get a used one as they don't make the XJ anymore. The KJ (Liberty) is quite a different animal. Curiously enough, in other parts of the world (read: not the USA), the KJ is called the Cherokee. Wanna attempt to reckon why? ;)
