Over the hill, over aged, over weight and over in Oregon. Ride the cheapest thing I can find but do a lot of repairs :D

Have broken three Magna frames thus far and wore out many parts. City has been putting in new water lines on the street where I ride and have been fighting broken spokes and flats all summer. They are about done for which I am thankful.

Looking forward to much instruction from snooping the boards - tomorrow now over my bedtime.

Awesome!
For a modest upgrade you might avoid the broken frames/spokes. Could prove less expensive over time.
Welcome to BF :D

Am looking into it at the moment. Tired of repairs :-) I must admit however Magna bikes has been great - they have a lifetime warranty on their frames so haven't paid for anything and they send a new bike :)

Actually only two frames as I think through the sequence. Probably partly my fault, I have to have the seat fairly high and it puts more stress on things I think due to the angle when up that high. Going to give them a break (pun not intended) this time and buy a replacement before this one breaks.

"Gone over to electric bikes." that is a winner, but I do it for exercise and don't think the effort/benefit would pencil out. :)

Thanks east hill. I'm in Salem where the dregs of OR are housed in prisons and hospitals and released into our neighborhoods to reoffend. Not a political statement, just the facts :-( Now to the political statement -- uhh better not the boards bandwidth would be exceeded most likely :-)

Actually we love Salem even with all its social/political/pothole woes.

Not entirely sure they're very happy with us political types here, but there's a few.

The problem with any town which has a large prison...Salem is not unique in that :( .

Nevertheless, Salem is still a nice place for cycling :D .
