Hey, I was thinking about cobbling together an artistic cycle, and was wondering about frame options.
Could I find a frame that would wrok well, or would I have to weld together something of my own?

Well, I suppose it mostly depends on what you want to do. Like that fellow who made a bike out of a block of lucite. He had to make it from scratch. But if you just want to add bits and paint them, then you can probably use a stock frame. Get your idea down, that will tell you what you need to do.

Keep us updated on your progress.

Sounds good.
So making sure I understand, 1x1 gear ratio or close to it, stem with no horizontal extension, bum bars?
Or could I use flat bars instead.

yeah, I think that sounds right. you also need to modify the fork to have zero rake. ie the fork ends are perfectly in line with the head tube.

****.
I just did some measurements on my fixed gear and that means if I use a frame with similar geometry, I need 650's.

Well, the light just came on. "Artistic bicycle" = bicycle used for artistic riding. I was reading that to mean "kinetic sculpture", and looks like that's how Artkansas read it, too.

Yeah, I thought he meant an art bike.
