for a few days my mountain bike has been performing a bit oddly
the back wheel didn't quite seem aligned. The insides of the wheel don't seem to be quite right - does this mean it has broken - its the metal rod that goes through the middle of the bike and connects to the nuts
is it definitely broken or could such things be tightened up
thnks
more descriptions and punctuation, pls, thnx
It could be a misadjusted hub, crushed hub, loose axle nut, wheel out of true, tire blowing off rim, bent frame, from what you've given. Probably one of first two. Describe it more exactly and you'll get more exact explanations.

If you have a bolt-on wheel my bet would be a broken axle. Which can be replaced

well when i looked at it last the ballbearings were spilling out at the bottom
but i've been told how to check for a broken axel - i'll check that
