Good thing it's too small for me. I'd be tempted. Just like I'm tempted by the new episode of Americn Choppers tonight.
It's a little known fact that Schiek and I pitched a fixie fabrication show to the discovery channel but they passed. DOH! back to the cube.

Hmm, that's my size too or pretty close. OTOH, I am sure I couldn't win the bidding war.

Close. We used pipe cleaners and tempra paint. I have many talents...Making bicycle frames from pipe cleaners is not one of them. Just wait until I learn to weld.

I used to weld in high School for "Art" class. Senior year, needed to stay out of math, took Independent Art. My focus was on metals. Got to use an oxy/acetalene (sp) torch for nine months. One of the best things I have ever learned to use, next to a claymore. Only wish I would have kept up with it now. I could build frames for all you sh*theads...maybe even move to AU with Big Orange and work with him. I think that is my goal now, retire in AU - double your US Dollars! Thanks Big Orange.

If I ever had to do it again, I would have gone the same route. I can think of hundreds of times that I've thought to myself, "Man, if I only knew how to weld." Still can't think of one time where I've thought to myself, "Man, I'm really glad I learned calculus..."

Found this on CR list:
I sold a few Saronni frames in the late 70's or early 80's. They were made
by Colnago with a photo of Saronni on the head tube. I understood that it
was an attempt for Colnago to offer a slightly lower priced version of his
own bikes. They were, as you noted Columbus Aelle straight gauge tubing.
Their angles were typical Colnago and the workmanship more than acceptable.
At the time the frames sold for $250-300.
this link is to a colnago catalogue which shows Saronni Giro D'Italia frame.

Saronni frames at some point in time were also made by Tecnotrat who later
became/made De Bernardi frames.

Steve Irwin. . . Australia's answer to Michael Jackson.
:roflmao:
Paul Hogan has it all over Steve Irwin. I'm betting Croc Dundee was Little Stevie's hero as a lad.
