Just read this today but might be old news by now. If not, someone might find it interesting.

"A BBC investigation has raised concerns that a sport may have bought its way into the Olympic Games.

Documents given to the BBC suggest that $3m (£1.5m) was paid by organisers of a Japanese cycling event to the UCI - the world cycling body."

China bought the Olympics, and somehow people think that Japan's paying to get a single sport admitted to the games is somehow big news? At least it is a real sport as opposed to freestyle skiing and snowboarding, and, for God's sake, synchronized swimming...

hey now, i don't snowboard, but i have mad respect for snowboarders...i could understand synchronized swimming (still, holding your breath for so long, you gotta be nuts...), but it takes lots of training, a decent amount of muscle (think of the torque required to rotate your body 3-4 times before you hit the ground) and straight-up balls to do snowboarding.

Hating on snowboarding, skiing and even synch swimming shows your ignorance on a large scale.

It makes you no better than anyone watching keirin and saying, "what the **** is that? You just pedal hard."

I think we can all agree on how ridiculous 'Curling' is in the olympics.
Keirin is much more respectable.

That is how buisness is conducted in the Olympics. Money buys anything you want from the Olympic commitee.

Curling rules. It's such a ridiculous sport that I love watching it. I wonder if those "brooms" are all high-tech made out of carbon.

Tell ya what, if you ever make your way out to Colorado you look me up and I'll take you out snowboarding and then you can talk about what is a real sport and what isn't. But hey, that's just like, your opinion man. Ha. Seriously, waist deep powder is where it's at.
