Whats up now..........cannondale boy
Pssh.. 61 is not nearly enough. Quit trying to mislead him. You should have at least 3 feet of spare cable flailing behind your bicycle at all times. You never known when you may damage a cable, need to clothesline other riders, or even tie up your girlfriend when you're on the trail.

Shut up you cant give up that easily.
What I would do is get the shimano airlines system, and modify it to give you forward thrust. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/contrib/sarge/Torch_anim.gif
Personally I like to eat mexican for extra thrust.

I like to leave enough so I can grab the extra with a pair of needle nose pliers and pry for a fine tune. That is approximately 62.3342mm...

Now you've got it! http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/chapel/bigfrogs/biglaugh.gif
Actually I don't even use shifters or levers. I like to just zip tie the tables to the top tube so I can pull on them. Saves weight.

I attach them to my rear end, obviously my setup saves more weight because my cables dont go ALL THE WAY to the top tube. http://instagiber.net/smiliesdotcom/otn/party/partysmiley.gif
Interesting point. I'm also a fan of riding bikes without any shifters, derailers, or even breaks. And forget suspension.. that stuff is for pansies. Rigid brakeless singlespeed is the ONLY way to ride.

Brakeless is so scary. I almost broke both wrists while riding brakeless!!!!! http://mindscraps.com/s/contrib/blackeye/Eyecrazy.gif

But yea.......brakeless and shifterless is the only way to go. Also a hub that dosent coast....that is also the way to go. The way not to go would be to ride the non coaster hub with brakes, the non coaster hub with shifters, riding on a coaster hub, riding with brakes and shifters but with a coaster hub, riding with brakes only, or riding with shifters only.
