This past weekend I finally finished building up this Pista. I wanted to something simple and clean and ended up with this. The tires were a nightmare to get on but overall it was fun to source the parts and build this thing up. It's nice and light and rides great. Can't wait to take it to the track this weekend. Anyway, just wanted to share some photos with you guys.

Thanks man. The fork is my favorite part as well. The rake is a little bigger than the stock fork which changed the handling a bit but it did eliminate toe overlap which is nice.

is this a track specific bike? the skinwall tires work very well

Hahah, no the pedals aren't italian. Couldn't find any SPD style pedals from an italian company. Oh well, the Ritcheys are great.

The Veloflex are great but are a PITA to install. My hands are still swollen.

Track and street. It's my only bike. I'll slap a brake on when I cruise around on the streets.

See I go for where it hurts. ;) I know about the veloflex installs... can't use tools and it's a tight tight fit.

i am starting to see more singlespeed/fg enthusiasts in my city but it seems more people use the freewheel side but still a lot of simple machines around which is nice to see, the bianchi is one i see around a lot

the fork that comes on the pista is not my favorite glad you have that cinelli on there...no uni frowns please
wish there was a track around here so i could ride my steamroller on it...

I can take a nice kick in the jewels. :)

I actually had to use Pedro levers. It was pretty much impossible to install them onto these rims by hand. My LBS even told me they couldn't do it. After hours of prying them on with the levers I was able to get them on. I punctured 3 tubes in the process. The good thing is, they were easier to remove and install the second time around.

and you're going to ride this in the street?

you realize that flats do occur, right?

No I never realized that! I thought tubes were puncture resistant! Thanks for the heads-up!

Like I already stated in the post that you quoted, the tires get easier and easier to install each time. I had to remove them a few times because I punctured the tubes and each time it took me only a few minutes to get them on and off with the levers.

Use a hair dryer. heat the baddies up for a while. I have to do that with conti gp tires on gipiemme rims.

Beautiful, classy, elegant bike.

Desmo thanks. Yeah I actually threw to tires in the clothes dryer for a few minutes to get them nice and warm. Not sure how helpful that was though.

No.
Its more like if every member that had a bike (read ALL of us) posted a thread for our bike then all we would have would be about 500 My Bike! threads.
That is why we have the "Your Fixed Gear/SS Photos!" thread. :notamused:

Thats... a pista... Sorry, but the Pista has to be the most over-hyped bike I ever saw. There's NOTHING special about it: **** wheels, **** fork, **** steel... this is lipstick on a pig. Maybe if this thing were an old school Cinelli or De Rosa ... but a ****ing pista.... c'mon now.

ill have to disagree ... he took an excellent approach to a common bike and made it stand out with selective parts.

not everyone can afford an oldschool cinelli or derosa, let's try and be realistic.

on another note, great work.

Fair enough. Just griping on the Pista cause its over done. This would be cooler if it were an older conversion that had some TLC (new paint, decals, frame-mods) put into it.

That's just like your opinion man. :)

I'd love a Cinelli Supercorsa from the 80's but those frames are a little expensive. Maybe next year. I personally love the Pista, it's simple and has a nice classic look. A lot of people have it but a lot of people also have the Pista Concepts and those frames look gorgeous. Just because it's popular and seen everywhere doesn't diminish it's beauty.

In the end I didn't claim that my bike was special. I just figured since we're all bike enthusiasts here, some of you might enjoy some nice bike porn.

Yeah, the heat is making BF members **** bricks. People would not complain about a Kilo TT with new tires, tape, and a saddle being "lipstick on a pig," but a pista??? Which is a pretty arguably better frame? Sheesh.

Not ragging for your lack of owning a sexier brand/model, just griping on the fact that there's nothing special about the Pista. I should post my Capo so people can rip into it... its ... FUN

There's nothing special about a The Hour or a Kilo TT either, like I said above. Yet they still get a sizable percentage of posts in this fourm. The kid can have a thread ^_____^;;

I acutally had a red Capo before this one that I sold to get the Pista. :)

It's a great frame though.
