Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

i dont care if i get **** for this post as long as i get a couple helpful ones
i'm going to san francisco this weekend and would like to pickup a set. anyone know any shops that would have them in stock? i'm only there for like an afternoon to buy things so a shop that can just order them is out of the question.

If you really need 'em, phone ahead first.
I'd definitely suggest Freewheel on Hayes - has a ton of singlespeed/track parts and normally has Deep Vs. Most likely place to have a range of colors in stock.
American cyclery also has a bunch hanging around. it's on stanyan a few blocks of haight

Why do you want to buy them while you're traveling? Do you not have bike shops in your area where you can get them?
American Cyclery. have a bunch of sets of almost every color laced up. and a bunch of sets unlaced.
IIRC $300 for a set laced to formula hubs.

Seems like a much better souvenir than an Alcatraz triathlon t-shirt or a little ceramic sea lion.

Become a Velocity dealer. It can't be too hard to do, since the Bike Co-op at UC Santa Cruz is a Velocity dealer, and we are about as low-volume a dealer as you get. Then you can get them in pretty much any color you want and they're more frequently in stock, in my (secondhand) experience.
QBP also stocks Velocity, if you want black, white, silver or blue.
