Introductions - Shout out from a Boston neighborhood

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I'm commuting to work (sometimes) and just got an old 70s era Schwinn LeTour. It's faster than my new Schwinn (1 yr old) hybrid. I'm currently trying to get my time down. My best time for the 17 miles one-way is 50 minutes and I did that on my mountain bike with slick tires two years ago. Now that I'm on a road bike I had some wheel shimmy / death wobble. I researched it and now I know to get up on my feet and hold the bike frame with my knees. I remember doing that as a kid.

Hello rumrunn6, have you posted photos of the LeTour in the Classic & Vintage forum? We are always ready and able to enjoy photos of a Schwinn!
Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

East Hill - Thanks for saying hi. No I haven't posted pics yet, but thanks for the invitation. I think I will. I'm off next week so I'll have some time.
