Come out for a beautiful early fall bike ride through the New England countryside and raise money for a great cause while pedaling!

Join other caring riders for a 30-, 50-, or 100-mile bike ride beginning and ending at Old Orchard Beach in Maine. Choose the ride distance that best matches your ability and ask your friends and family to sponsor you in the ride. We ask that each rider obtain at least $100 in pledges. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the Michael J Fox Foundation to help find treatment and eventually a cure for Parkinson's.

Not a bike rider? That's OK. Volunteers are needed to work in rest stops the day of the ride, assist with spreading the news about the ride, or just coming out to cheer on the riders.

wow this actually sounds like a pretty good ride. i love going up to the old orchard beach area (have a condo in Wells). Just getting out of college and starting to work i dont have enough money to be able to ride in something like the pan-mass but i could easily raise well over $100 to ride in this!

quick question: if i register do i need to tell them now that distance i want to do or is it something i can change on race day?

depending on weather and other factors (mainly my fittness now that i am working more and riding less) i would choose either the 50 or 100 mile ride.. the longest i have ever done is 35 miles but if i am in an actual ride and give myself a few hours i could def. do 50, idk about 100 tho!

Hi Nick -

I think that the website registration does ask you which ride you are going to do, but it is no problem at all if you change your mind the day of the ride. The route is still a work in progress, but we should have it set in the next week or so. If you would like, I can send you an email with the routes when we get them. If you are familiar with biking in the area and have any advice on the route, we would certainly take it. This is the first year for this ride and we're working hard to make it a big success! Thanks for your interest.

Sounds good to me as well. I haven't ridden around that area for 20 years. I would definitely like to ride this one and the pledge amount seems doable - unlike the pan mass challenge which was completely intimidating.

any advice? if you can make the route some of the eastern trail. go to easterntrail.org (or dot com or net im not sure) and check it out. theres not much of a map on the website so idk try googling and see what comes up but the small portion i rode (about 15 or 20 miles of it) was fantastic. nice calm countryside roads with little to no traffic and decent pavement
