I got me a brown brook leather seat, and lyotard pedals with chrome clips, what else can I do that would be period correct

it looks pretty period correct as it is. those seem to be all the stock parts

If you want to live to enjoy riding it, I'd set that stem much lower in the steerer tube. Those stems aren't known for being really reliable, but at that height you are tempting fate.
If you want a better shifting bike, a SunTour V derailleur would be a nice upgrade while staying fairly period correct. Kool Stop Continental pads in the Weinmann brakes would do a world of good, too.
Please fix that stem!

That's a Pivo stem and there's nothing wrong with them. You just need to lower it a bit.
Lose the dork disc and the chainguard. If you are unhappy with the shifting, strongly consider SunTour derailleurs front and rear. Lower the stem before it breaks off -- you need at least 2" / 5cm insertion.
