My name is Mark and I am a beginning rider and have recently purchased a Specialized Allez Triple road bike. Although I live in a mountainous area, I've elected to try road biking for now and so far am enjoying it very much. I put over 150 miles on th bike in a week, taking road trips to work and back and a few pleasure rides on the weekend. It's a great way to stay fit, save money by avoiding having to buy to much gas and to just have fun being outside. Also this bike is so lightweight. I've had it at nearly 40 mphs going down some of the hills around here (and that's pretty fast for me on a bike).

Welcome. Asheville is a great place to ride. My favorite shops are Hearns, BioWheels and Liberty. Good riding folks in Asheville.

Hi Mark, I think you must be brave to ride in Asheville--I don't remember the roads being especially wide, and I KNOW that tourists are there by the hundreds of thousands...

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !

Thank's folks. Also wanted to mention that I took this back back and upgraded to the new ('09) Allez Sport Compact with a full set of 105's on it and 10 speed cassette. I think I'm going to be even happier with this one. I pick it up this week (probably Thursday).
