Sorry I know questions on gearing ratios are asked all the time but I'm a newbie to fixed riding and am a little confused, so here they are.... again.... maybe.

I'm currently running a single speed with a 46T ring and 19T freewheel and am spinning out a little too easy. I live in Melbourne so its fairly flat and i'm doing mainly inner city riding. Just about to fit a flip flop hub- free/fixed.
Need some advice on what rear cogs to run on each side. At the moment Im thinking of running a 17t fixed gear and perhaps 16t freewheel.
My cranks are 165mm and Im keeping the 46t ring.

Any advice would be great, especially from anyone who's ridden in Melbourne. thanks

I run 47/17 and find it just about right. 46/17 is a good ratio for fixed in Melbourne CBD.
