Is there a place I could get some paint to touch up an ivory Brompton? I don't really need it to match perfectly, but before heading out to the auto parts store, I thought I'd ask to see if anyone found a good match.
I just received my new Bromptons yesterday and one of them had some cracks near the fork. I chipped away at the paint to make sure the frame wasn't cracked and fortunately, it's just the paint! Now I just need to touch it up so it doesn't rust.

I can't believe Bromptons don't come with touch-up paint.

Yeah, it's a bummer. I can't believe they would allow this Brompton to pass QC.

If you're just doing touch up work, you should find something pretty close at the cosmetic counter.. fingernail polish works well and there should be plenty of choises close to your color...

How durable is finger nail polish? Maybe it's a misconception, but wouldn't I have to reapply it more often?

Great, we can have our nails to match the colour of our bikes now.
My bike is dark grey.

Hi,
sorry to see that. Thats a dissapointment. If you want the real paint you can buy it here for example:
http://www.sjscycles.co.uk/product-Brompton-Brompton-Touch-Up-Paint-10ml-Pot-QTOUCHP-11813.htm
Also I would be confident, that Brompton sends you the paint without costs for you if you email them the case - perhaps with a pic - or email the dealer. Actually I find this is the minimum one could ask for.

The place I ordered from is going to send me temporary touch up paint that doesn't match exactly, and will send the exact touch up paint after they receive it from Brompton (which should take a month or two). They responded to my email right away!:thumb:
If you have a hobby shop near you, Testor model paint works perfect, durable and you will find an exact match
they have hundreds of colors
