It seems like bike shops only rent out hybrids and mountain bikes. Anyone know of shops where you can rent a singlespeed, fixed, or basic road bike?

I can imagine it'd be quite dangerous to just rent out a fixed gear to the public :o

i don't think you can rent a fixie anywhere, too much liability for the rental place.

however, you can rent old road bikes and 3 speed cruisers at Frank's Bikes in Lower East Side:
533 Grand Street between Henry and Madison Streets,
