Been riding bikes off and on for most of my life. Currently have 3: a Raleigh Comp GS that I bought as a bare frame and built up, then had full braze-ons done and a purple paint job by a frame builder here in Salt Lake who, unfortunately, went out of business. Only drawback, I guess he thought I wanted to go undercover and didn't replace the beautiful Raleigh metal and enamel headtube plate. Didn't notice it till he was long gone.
Then I bought a Cannondale frame and built that up. Loved the bike, but as I got older (I'm 63 now) that aluminum tubing just beat me up too badly. And an ancient Rockhopper that my son gave up and I'm now in the process of updating (there'll be another thread on this subject).
Salt Lake is pretty bike friendly, but the suburbs are another matter! High speed 4 & 8 laners, side streets not much slower, and bike lanes...well, they just don't get it yet. Nice to be here, tons of information, nice folks.

Can we see photos of the Raleigh?

Bummer about the Raleigh headbadge, although I bet you could find a replacement easily enough...

Welcome to BF, and feel free to PM me with any questions :) !
