Introductions - Hello from Kansas City!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I've been browseing the boards now for a while and realized that I can't remember if I ever introduced myself.
My name is Paul Clark and I'm a small business owner in Kansas City, Ks. I've been stuck on bicycles for about three years now, and I can blame it all on the purchase of an old Peugeot Nice from my local bike shop. In the last three years I've experimented with all types of bikes, but I'm finding that I really love the Vintage geared road bikes.
Anyhow, Hello from Kansas City!
Paul

I was hoping there were maybe others from this area on here! It's always interesting to read what's going on with other riders.
I'm currently getting ready to rebuild a Schwinn World Sport back into a geared bike. I've been riding it single speed for the last couple of years, but I'm wanting to get back to riding for distance. Unfortunatly, that's about the best bike I have at the moment, but I'm on the look out for a true Vintage ride!
Anyway, very nice to make your aquaintance! Are there any Vintage rides here in the KC area?

Welcome to the BikeForums. I used to live in the KCMO area (Belton), now I live in Chico, CA. Which shop did get your bike from? Was it by chance ACME in downtown KCMO?

Thank you, it's nice to read these forums.
I probably should have gotten one from ACME, they seem to be a great Bike Shop, but I live in Western Wyandotte county, so I went to Bob's Bicycle and Lawnmower. Unfortunatly they seem to be more about lawnmowers these days. Ahh, Kansas.
My next bike will probably come from ACME though, they really are great people.

Hi East Hill! I seem to be in a small predicament at the moment. I've sold my Peugeot and my Schwinn is sitting on two selves in the garage untill I can get it all put back together. I'm in the process of doing a complete overhaul, but will definitly be posting pics as soon as it's all done. I may even be able to get some pics of my wifes Raleigh.

I think I would classify that as an 'oops' .
I have twelve bicycles, my theory being that at least one in the bunch will be rideable at any given time :D .

I know! I didn't plan that out well at all.:notamused: It shouldn't take me long to get the Schwinn back in order though. I have all of the parts that came off of it when I did the single speed conversion, and I'm lucky in the fact that, being self employed, I work from home, so I don't need it for commuting.
