Anyone know of any new Track Frames in this price range ($200-$300)... I know of the Kilo TT, but it's all sold out everywhere I look, and I know of the Sparton, but I hear its heavy and cant get much info on it. Aliens look tempting but a little out of my price range. Are there some brands that I'm overlooking?

spicercycles.com is the same as a kilo pretty much. Also bikeisland.com has a track frame for $120 w/out a fork, but you can pick one up pretty cheap.

I've got a Pake, with the Soma lugged track fork. Paid 300$ for them. People seem to be down on them, but only beacause their a little heavy. The welds look fine, & if you're only going to ride on the streets, a couple of pounds shouldn't be an issue. If you search for cheap frames I'm sure you'll come up with a ton of threads.

i'm down for a conversion if I can find one with tight geometry and priced right... seems though everyone and their mother in California know about fixed gears and SS now and so the prices are getting ridiculous

apparently bikeisland got a new one in stock today called the jury. it has huge tire clearances and a nice looking fork. dunno when it'll be on the site though.

I hope this doesn't mean a slack geometry

i'm probably going to be flamed for this, but:

check out the leader bikes. i believe the 735TR frame is $289 without fork, or you can get the cheaper 720TR or whatever for like $150.

i'm searching for a cheapo 1 1/8" threadless fork. so far the cheapest i could find was $50. any recommendations?

I ordered a Sparton and hope to receive it within the next 2-3 weeks. I've read all the good and bad and a ton of opinions on the frame but what I was looking for was something different and the lugs appeal to me. I don't know much other than they are made of straight gauge 4130 and the geometry is more road than track, but that's fine with me.

For not much more than the $300 limit you've set, you can score a brand-new Schwinn Madison, once again, not a track bike, but still quite a nice bike.

No **** man. I've been trying to find a 47-49cm bike to convert for my wife and every single ad in CL says "vintage" or "perfect for fixie!". And they want $300 for a bike they got for $10 at Goodwill.
