Training & Nutrition - Knees II

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
My right knee has been giving me trouble lately. I added weight training to my regimen this year, but my right knee started hurting badly, right at either the top of my patella or in the area of the femur where the patella rubs. The only other changes have been a wider bottom bracket so the pedal on the right side is 2-4mm farther out. After doing some research on the internet I found that it also helps to keep my leg straighened as much as possible while sitting all day at my desk. But I would really like to be able to increase the intensity of my weight lifting.
Thanks for your help,
Gary
My knee hurt in the same spot in the same way, I moved my cleat about 4 mm the pain cleared up, I do no weight training but if I did, with the state of my knee I would have a program perscribed by a PT.
Which way did you move your cleat?
I moved it toward my heel, putting less stress on my knee.
