I took my 'new' NoCom out for the club ride tonight. I built it up from a used frame. This was its third voyage, and I have to say, the other rides were not meeting my expectations. This bike was supposed to be FAST and I had problems keeping up with anybody.

But tonight... OMG!!! Something must have clicked! This bike is a rocket! I pushed, it went. I was taking hills in one or even two gears higher, and cruising speed was... unreal. I came off a stop sign and easily accelerated to 27 mph on a slight uphill. I think I'm going to like this one!

Awesome. Simply awesome. :thumb:

I'm curious: how's the ride over seams and small bumps? Looks like this speed daemon might ride like a dump truck due to lack of anything evenly remotely resembling suspension.

Yes, sweet looking ride...glad you gave it a chance to show you the real deal on speed.

The bike is *very* stiff; but it doesn't seem to be a problem, probably due to the long wheelbase. Still getting used to the turning limitations that are obvious. On Wednesday night's club ride, the group started jockeying for position about a mile from the final sign sprint. As might be expected, nobody wanted to lead until they were ready to sprint. The group was doing 25 mph. I decided that wasn't good enough and passed the lot of them doing 30 mph. The sprinters immediately gave chase, repassing me. Trouble is, they couldn't hold 30 mph for a mile and I could! Maybe they'll know better next time. :) Yep, this bike has potential...

At least your group still chases. My local fast group gave up trying. They now wait for me to take off and then sprint for second. :)

I'm sure that BP got a good deal, but in case you want a new one, here's a link:

Plus oversize shipping; don't forget that. :)

Yeah, it's ironic that I wanted a highracer like a Carbent or an M5-High for this year's riding, so I could mix in with the upright group better. So what comes up but a steal of a deal on this. I just couldn't turn it down, even though the streetability on it sort of sucks. And now VK2 framesets are 'only' $2600, which would have been my first choice for a replacement lowracer. Too many deals, not enough money...

I can handle the shipping costs....... it is the 'other' minor cost that gets me. :(
