I wear a size 16 shoe and wear basic running/athletic shoes when riding. About 1/3 of my foot hangs off the outside of my pedals. They are some cheap Wellgo MTB pedals about 3 3/4" wide I picked up at the LBS. I found some MKS Touring pedals on eBay that look to be wider. They seem to have a decent reputation based on the posts I've read.

Are there any other pedals that you guys would recommend in the less-than-$50 range? It's going on a late 90s Schwinn hybrid that is dedicated to road use. I don't care what they are made for as long as they are wide and will accept toe clips.

Thanks.

I feel your frustration. I use a platform pedal:

I've looked at platform pedals, but none of the ones that I wanted were compatible with toe clips...unless I just need new toe clips.
