Does anybody have info on the Colnago Super (1987)?? All I know is it uses Columbus SL tubing, I have a chance of getting one for around $500. (frame).
Would like to have specs, Weight, and if You own one, how does it ride??
I ride Ti (Merlin XLght) and Carbon Look KG361 this days. Both bikes under 17 LBS.
I know, when comes to weight there is no comparison, the Colnago frame is like 5 Lbs alone. What I am looking for is the soft ride of steel, I used to have a Bianchi TLX and loved the softness.

I have a steel Master and I'd guess it rides pretty similar to a Super even though the Masters have the Gilco shaped tubing.
Very nice riding bike. Colnagos don't have particularly long toptubes in relation to their seattubes so you may want to keep that in mind when choosing stem length.
Are you building it retro or modern? While my inclination would be retro I'd understand going modern, my Master is Record 8 STI and it is good stuff. The components should be Campy though! :) Assuming good fit you'll be happy with the ride.
Finally, $500 for frame (and fork?) is IMO a bit high unless it's in truly immaculate shape,
The Colnago is a great old bike, but then I like old! Built up with period-correct components, it should weigh roughly 10kg. I share Walter's opinion regarding price.
