Ive never had a problem with this before. heres the story, got my new wheels threaded on my cog and lockring just fine, greased the threads well, didnt cross the threads (they went on nice and smooth), took it for a ride maybe 5 miles max, turns out i need to send the rear wheel back because of some confusion with my order, now the lockring is majorly stuck.

I have tried everything i found online (yes im turning it clockwise) including: lockring tool (obviously), penetrating oil, heat, chisel and hammer, tightening the cog to relieve stress on the lockring, and im out of ideas. its a problem because i need to send the wheel back sans cog and lockring. any help would be great...thanks

maybe (?) you just need a little more 'umphh'? Put the hookspanner in a vice, engage the lockring on the spanner, and turn the wheel. You'll get a lot more torque that way.

otherwise, chalk it up as a loss and send it back with the wheel.

(how did you not realize there was an error in the order before your ride?

ya havent tried that because i dont have a vice handy, but its a good idea, i wish i had one. It wasnt that i didnt realize it, the guy told me I could ride the incorrect wheel until he sent the correct one.
