Did a club training ride this morning - hill repeats. Was a total slug, got dropped by the second lap. Each lap was a struggle. I was down in the granny gear, which I haven't used in months. When I got back home I found the front brake was locked on the wheel after I remounted it the other day.
No wonder it was such a struggle. Maybe I discovered a new training technique.
Doh!
AAADD!!!
I'm about as bad.

I bet that won't happen again. But then we forget our shoes or hemets. I think I have three "oops" so far this year.

Yes, this is certainly proof of belong. The under-50 children, wonderful as they are with their bright young eyes and high hopes, would have flat given up on the first climb.

Didn't Lance use that as a reason for the one time he bonked on a serious climb in the TDF? You're in good company, which seems to have no age boundary.

I did about 10 miles on a club ride once with my rear tire jammed up against the chain stay - I must have ranked the wheel on the first climb. I wondered why I was having trouble keeping up. Oh well - you got the better workout!

I thought I had done that today, but alas, it was just a lack of energy. Starting work at 1:00am for the last week and not being able to sleep during the day (I'm definitely solar powered) seems to be taking it's toll. :twitchy::notamused:

Or more likely noticed the wheel wasn't turning freely before they even started.
