I have had GEICO auto insurance off and on since 1970. I had it in California when I was stationed there from 1970 until 1976. Then, I was overseas where it was not available until 1983. I went back with them after a bout with Nationwide refusing to honor their claims in 1988. They are the best company that I have ever dealt with.
Last August, right before my policy was due for renewal, they called to apologize because they had to raise my rates. What other insurance would call you to apoligize for charging more?
I had an at-fault claim, and my wife had had three. They apologized, but due to the actuarial tables, they had to raise them. I was prepared for a massive increase, but it was only $8.00! I just renewed again and the rates went down. My 18 year old daughter is on my policy and she has had no claims nor tickets, and is an honor roll student, so they went down. Great company!
Today, I had to make a claim because my windshield got cracked. They did all the work for me, setting up and confirming an appointment tomorrow morning.
I also have my home owner's insurance throught them. I have only made one claim, but it was taken care of within three days.
When I decided to buy an expensive bike, I called them to see if it would be covered. In all cases, even if I am far from home and someone steals it, it is covered - replacement cost, too. Can't beat that.
