Hi,

I've been looking at e-bike coversion kits (yes I'm Lazy), Can you guys recommend some good ones?

I am NOT mechanically inclined (on a good day :) ) Would these kits be possible to install myself?

I noticed that some kits do NOT include the batteries.

Can you recommend a good battery?

I was think of ordering one like this, E-bike kit (http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/711-53200-19255-0/1?type=4&campid=5335808963&toolid=10001&customid=&mpre=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=260266965944), It's one of the least expensive ones I've found.

Can you recommend a good battery?

Thank you all so much.

cyclone usa or cyclone taiwan has these for cheaper. If you are just starting with ebikes, check out Electric-bikes.com for lots of info. ebikes.ca is also good.

if you're not mechanically inclined, i would highly NOT rec a cyclone type conversion kit. Easiest, and cheapest way to go is a front wheel hub mounted motor. I have a RWD hub motor kit that does 35 mph, and even that was pretty easy. It's overkill, and in retrospect.. I think a 36V hub motor would've totally filled my needs. The more you research this stuff, the more you'll realize the importance of the battery you choose. I had 48V 10Ah of sealed lead batteries.. 30 lbs, stupid. But lead batts are very inexpensive. If cost is your concern, go with a lead 36v 10Ah setup. Weight will be more manageable, and when u want to upgrade (and u will cuz it's addicting fun),.. even going to a different type of batt, nickel, lithium, whatever, at the same 36V 10Ah rating will make your ride faster and go further.

www.ebikes.ca - Vendor: the best of the best as far as the ebiking community is concerned (general consensus, of course). Small shop, but extremely knowledgeable. 2 types of people. People who haven't bought from or dealt with ppl at ebikes.ca, and happy customers. Not once heard a bad review.

btw, kits are selling like crazy. a lot of places are out of motors & controllers.

Other vendors:
google EVtech or texaselectricbikes
www.electricrider.com

good luck!
